This was my first wargaming era, and still one of my favourites. My gaming partner at the time, and best school mate, was a chap called Patrick Bauer. He was of French heritage and soon got me into my next (and still favourite) era of Napoleonics.

We started gaming with Charles Grant's great old set of rules called Battle! Practical Wargaming......and I still use them (heavily modified) today.
